How to Date Inexpensively

When I dated my husband he said he had spent £335 every month taking me out. I didn’t realize how much money this was until after we got married and bought our house. So, now when we go out, we embark on free activities. You should do the same, especially with the current state of the economy.

Of course, there are some that fear that the so-called cheap date could be a turn-off. But in reality, cheap dates can actually be the most romantic, depending on how you do them.

For example, one of the best inexpensive dates involves a romantic dinner at home. Light a couple of candles, order Chinese food and put some romantic music on in the background. I guarantee that most women will be impressed, even if they were accustomed to more lavish outings.

Museums and zoos are two other venues through which you can have an inexpensive date. Not only are they free, but they give you and your date something to talk about. Granted, museums and zoos are not quite as romantic as a dinner-for-two, but they do give you a lot of social entertainment. Plus, they are good for your mind.

More free dating options are available if you and your date are hobbyists. For instance, you could attend a free exhibition and check out various exhibition stands. Or, maybe you can sit in on a poetry jam. Just look in your local community paper to see what types of free events are available.

If all else fails, you could always take your date to a movie. However, be careful as movies often have hidden expenses. If you must go, try to eat before hand, (so you won’t be tempted to buy the theater’s overpriced food). Also, make sure you only go during matinee hours, as they offer the cheapest movies.
